Charlotte Christensen
Welcome
I am an assistant professor in the
Grinnell College Physics
Department.
Here I teach a wide variety of physics courses while working with
undergraduate researchers to understand how
galaxies form and evolve.
Specifically, I use computers to simulate the growth of galaxies from
soon after the Big Bang to modern times.
By analyzing these simulations and comparing them to actual galaxies,
it is possible to learn what physical processes shape their eventual content
and structure.
